After making my cute remark above on Larry's behalf, I felt inclined to let folks know That having known Larry for a number of years, I can honestly say he is the real deal. He is one of the most sincere and honest people I have had the pleasure to work with. And a man I am proud to call my friend. He has no secrets, and has been more than willing to share his knowledge and craft with any who ask. He's the kind of guys Id trust with my money AND my Wife !!
Larry, thanks for all you have done for me, and all the good times we have had! Look forward to The "Big Test" in Oct with ya!!

God Bless
Mike

P.S.
When describing Larry to others please remember that his hair is "Platnium Blonde" NOT Grey, he's a little touchy about this.

I don't know why this thread started .But I will also say he's one of the good guys ,but word has it that he has been hanging around with some shady people .
Out of state get together for the purpose of sharing and learning and research for metal methods for the sole purpose of developing a high performance blade ,
teams have been called in from Tenn.,north Carolina ,Georgia,to peruse this goal working in a systematic way to bring this to a full understanding of (the Mystery -- blade steel ).
motive -- the cutting contest Which has taken on a life of its on , I understand great effort was afforded to this quest as resent as last weekend findings were compiled and great strides were gained in hopes that the steel be pushed to it limits and that the blade will be a true performer ( the Mystery Steel ) --is a title that has been tagged to the effort ,the metalsmiths that are involved are an elusive bunch meeting at different places at each meeting ,.
I understand Larry kemp is one of the ring leaders The real Larry Kemp ,
o by the way did I mention he's one of the good guys
hehehehehehh and he's a good friend as well
ps Mike we will be ready for you bud you better do your home work hehhhehe
AND THAT ANT GRAY THATS WHITE

Ron I understand that strange and wonderful things have been happening in the Applachia Mountains! I know you are bound by a blood packt and all, but I was wondering which phase of the moon, which foot you were standing on, and what color sox you were wearing??
I think Im ready, forged mine from my "favorite" steel (favorite cause its free!) did some pretty wild treatments myself, at least it scared the cows away that always gather at the fence while Im forging!! Just to be on the safe side, I have sent it to the swamps of South Lousianna to have some chicken bones read over it by a Voodoo Lady, and then will be sending it to Rome to have it blessed by the Pope. Think I have all the bases covered.

Where do I go to get the "Pink Slip" for this thing??

God Bless
Mike

Wow the POPE that's ok ,they went over his head they talked to the Popes boss , as for the bones and voodoo chick, never thought of that one ,a heck's on your knife now that's new.
Its always good to cover all basses, if I remember right I think it was told that a few chicken bones were dropped at one of their get together I do know some one mentioned chicken grave yard .
after the bone dropping thing was over with witch btw was scary to me, I thought it would never end they kept bringing out these dead chickens for us to consume , does that count for casting bones ,if so we've done that
as to which foot Larry stood on im thinking it must have been Jim Garners -- it got rather crowded at the forge it could have happened --the moon was yesterday s run never drink moon unless it has some age on it ,and we don't wear sox, I well tell you this it was something to see hoteren than two hens at a egg laying contest I do know a lot of other people were talked about Austin ,Bain,Marten, it was weird to say the least .and they even heated steel with a stick with fire coming out of it ,top that one themes high tek boys
