Caramel Ivory Dagger
Just finished this one for the Canadian Knifemakers Guild Show in August. The knife is 10" overall with a frame handle and coin edged brass liners. The blade steel is Takefu Suminagashi from Japan. It has a "white steel" core with 5 layers of contrasting softer steel on each side. the guard is 416 with brass coin edged accents and the handle slabs are caramel interior mammoth ivory. Please let me know what you think. All responses greatly appreciated.

Steve I always have to take a look when I see your avatar and really like that dagger the coffin style handle and the color are just right on!
The sheath looks great as well the way it comes up and protects the handle is a great asset with the material you used for the handle, got to love that color!!!!!!!!!!!! __________________ C Craft Customs With every custom knife I build I try to accomplish three things. I want that knife to look so good you just have to pick it up, feel so good in your hand you can't wait to try it, and once you use it, you never want to put it down ! If I capture those three factors in each knife I build, I am assured the knife will become a piece that is used and treasured by its owner! C Craft Last edited by C Craft; 05-19-2014 at 02:04 PM. |

Thanks everyone. It was fun to make and definitely a learning experience. That is the third blade I ended up grinding for this knife after messing up the first two. There is a bit of a WIP over in Facebook on the Canadian Knifemaker Guild page.

Make sure you bring some of your knives to the show so we can all admire them. Steve __________________ Stephen Vanderkolff Please come on over and check out my website. http://www.vanderkolffknives.com/ Thanks |
