Just ordered me a piece of 1084! Now I just gotta figure out What in the hell I'm gonna turn it into :/ maybe a sheep's foot with purple heart scales and some simple file work.... I have a basic file work pattern down pretty Well.... and some purple heart already laying on the shelf........... hmmmm the idea sharks are swimming..
Would 7-8" overall length be big enough you think?

You (anyone) should be able to post a picture by using the Post reply button (not the Post Quick Reply button) to get to the full sized reply screen. Near the bottom of that page there is a Manage Attachments button. Press that button and follow the prompts to post a picture.

Looks good Hondo, My attempt at a start tonight was a crash and burn. Tried to forge weld some San Mai,. I dunno, It got up to 1250C which is about 2250F I think but it would not weld. oh well back to plan A.

Thanks man.
I'm shopping for some mosiac pins and some scales that are not to spendy after that i should be good to go. i have some purple heart i had thought about using.... but its raw and i hate to trade a knife off and the scales lose there color after awhile because i plan to carry whatever knife i get outta this and i hope whoever gets mine does the same and WORKS IT TO DEATH! I wanna see how it holds up.
I got my grinding problem solved for this knife. My local "mentor"/ "guy thats way better at this than me" Gary is gonna let me come up and use his 2x72. with his supervision, tips and experience on hand i hope to tun out something really nice this go around.

Are you planning on drilling more holes in the tang Hondo? Looks good though, I've yet to try a sheep's foot design, I think I should though.

Probably not Nate its pretty balanced already. Although after the scales are on that may be a different story... hmm i'm gonna have to think about that now.

I think I'm going to be in for this KITH as well. Not sure on a design yet but I know some inspiration will come soon.
I have a general question regarding KITHs, although I think I already know the answer:
Are these supposed to be a one-off design? I know the intention is to make a knife specifically for the KITH, but what happens if I make one, send it off, and really like the design and want to make a few more to sell? It's my design so there shouldn't be any issue with that, but it still seems like that's maybe taking away from the spirit of the KITH to me for some reason...
Can anyone give me their take on this?
-ryan
