one I did for a KITH

After taking a class with Tai to learn the procedure for making a socket handle, I had to do one on my own to see if i could--I had also signed up for a KITH over on Paleoplanet and this is the one i made and used for the KITH. 1084 steel about 10"OAL-handle is wrapped with cord and then coated with shallac-the sheath is willow.

Nice, Mike! Obviously inspired by Tai, but it's got your own style.

Thanks guys, it was fun to do and the person who got it was pleased (had a hard time parting with it as it looked so good with the much larger one i did with Tai---which now also has a nice wooden sheath).

Mike, To bad you couldn't find another teacher. I don't ever recall hearing of any student under Tai tutolidge that didn't gain a sizable amount of new skills. I'll be looking forward to seeing more of these.
