Making this one for my son, and of course he picked mammoth ivory if dad was paying.
I like to use the button head screws and put the knife together and then attach my handles with separate screws.
If I try to use flat head screws and countersink it doesn't line up as well because you don't have the hole thru the liner to line up your pins.
The only way I know how to do this is turn over the handle and drill a relief spot where the button head screw head is and this allows the handle to fit flush.
What are some other ideas folks?
