Try Todd Combs at Shadetree Phenolics. He makes all sorts of scales out of Denim/burlap/carbon fibre/yarn etc, etc. Usually I make my own denim and burlap, but I got lazy this year and ordered some of his...great stuff. He's currently providing scales to Mike Stewart(or he was) at Bark River and Tool. Also he'll provide thick carbon fibre scales(3/8") which are hard to find anywhere.
