Nathan, my two cents worth. Really not a bad shot. I would take care of the change in the background in the upper left. You may want to rotate the knife a bit for a more dramatic effect. Use a reflector to bounce a bit of light back to the front side of the handle. The "red" accent either needs to be dropped completely or made stronger. Just my thoughts but you are of to a good start.
