One week slipped into another, and before we knew week7 had arrived.That was when we started our bivouac week, which was sleeping in pup tents, running patrols and basically doing
all that "John Wayne" stuff...anyone who has ever been to Ft. Carson will remember "Agony Hill"
carrying full field gear, and wondering if you would ever get to the top.
By now, the slackers, and "smart guys" who tried to game the system, were set back for
recycling, or would be sent home.The instructors knew they had their graduating class, and actually began to treat us like humans.
The worst part of basic to me, was having to watch those boring first aid films...they would
dim the lights, and everybody would start nodding off.Of course, a sgt. with a long stick would
rap you on the head....you couldn't help it...after going 100mph all day, sit in a cool dark place
and you would go to sleep.
