Nice haul!

The aluminum would be great for making jigs and milling plates and other tools. It can be used for knife furniture too, of course, but after a while you'll realize it doesn't really look that good.

The stainless could be used in folders, a little heavy but not uncommon. Wou;d also be good for guards and ferrules.

Kaowool - yeah! Build that forge!

Steel cable - don't jump too fast on that. Most cable is no good for knives. Even if this is the right stuff, it takes considerable practice to successfully forge that stuff.

Ditto on the saw blade. Check to see if it has carbide cutters added on to the teeth. If so, it isn't likely to be blade material.

That air tank might be a forge body waiting to happen.

With good blade material so cheap to buy you really have to be motivated to convert salvaged steel into blades. It takes a bit of practice and expertise to pull it off (that, and a forge). My friends drag over a bunch of useless stuff too, God bless 'em, but yours did pretty good for you........
