Bill, in my opinion, probably made in 1964 and 1965 based on the blade stamp, collar and pommel grooving, and retaining nut. Type two stamp. I've seen quite a few knives from this '64-'66 time period with yellow-paint two grit stones. Either stones were substituted, or the knife was sold and shipped a year or two after it was completed, or yellow-paint was introduced in 1965 (which I suspect is true).

Note: No one has actually studied and documented the date for the first appearance of yellow painted stones so far as I know. Most folks have just repeated the "common knowledge" mantra.
