tape - maybe so Ron. I was having trouble rationalizing the seeming all medium 5 spacer stack, wooden handle, commando shape. Not saying it wasn't a possibility...but just no precedents. Tape would explain the disconnects but can't imagine exactly why it would be applied. Also, Joe may be right about later time period. The romantic in me wants this knife to be old, an heirloom from Westmoreland.
I'm been searching the internet and you tube looking for video or more pictures of the DSC ceremony but no luck. I did find a relapse into PTSD after viewing thousands of Vietnam photos...not a big issue though.
I'm e/mailing LTC Steve to see if they have more family photos. Thanks to you and Joe for the informative posts.
