What is the white stuff by the way PoolQ?

I expected someone to ask about those but not as quick as you noticed. Those are all Victorynox and Dexter kitchen knives. We have 17 restaurants in our chain and when
the chef's want them replaced, they give the old ones to me and I give them new ones. I use these two fold; 1) cut down 14" blades to make home paring and boning knives
2) I have been trying to figure out how to melt and remold the handles. I have one mold built but still haven't figured out the melting and pouring part. I think I will have to use virgin poly but still trying.

Or, If you are talking about the white wood - That is Ceiba Pentandra Silkwood from W. Africa

Good Luck with the leatherwork!! I have made a couple of sheaths but that is as far as I have gone.
