If you will look at the Sticky thread called KITH Preparation Class you will find a simple blade design that I use for evaluating the HT of new blade makers. The pattern is ugly but effective for what I need. Follow the instructions in that thread and I will test that blade for you. You might also read the thread next to it called BEFORE You Heat Treat Your First Knife.
My advice would be to do this simple stuff first before you make a finished knife for anyone else to field test .....
