Sounds like a blast. I think you did it right by combining those two classes rather than attempting to set aside another time, buy another plane ticket, etc.

Congratulations on the test. Many people say the test doesn't prove anything, etc. But, in my experience, it is an excellent test of basic knowledge and skill. What sorts of thermal treatments did the blade recieve prior to the torch draw? With 5160, properly forged and edge quenched, you might have passed that test even without the draw! But better safe than sorry.
