Not bad, we've certainly seen worse first attempts. Not sure I'd call it a bowie but whatever.
On the next one, use a fresh belt on the handle because a fresh, sharp belt will grind cooler. Don't let the pins in the handle get too hot or they will scorch the wood which is why the rear pin has that dark halo around it ...
