My German Okapi is tearing itself apart!

Three years ago I found this Okapi Folder in the street in Brooklyn, NY. I just took it home and threw it in a drawer. But since I am starting my first friction folder I thought I would check out the design of this thing. I did a little research and it turns out that this German-made, carbon steel variety was made between 1902 and 1987 and then it was produce in South Africa. In fact it's the preferred knife among most criminals there due to it's low price tag. Anyway the spring axis pin has cracked the wood and pretty much destroyed the knife. Every time I open it the cracks gets worse. I don't plan on spending any money on it but what a bummer. It could be 100 years old. Just thought I would post a picture of it and see if anyone cared to comment on it's age or maybe some quick fix advice.
