Chisholm Trail show
I've been working like a madman for well over a month to have 20 knives ready for the Chisholm Trail gun and knife show in Wichita.
The show was this weekend. I sold six and I count that as a good event for me.
I learned a few things too.
Primarily, that I need to have a better selection of larger knives to choose from (most of my work is pocket fixed blades).
I met a few very knowledgeable buyers--very refreshing to talk highly technical stuff with people in the know.
I post today in this forum primarily because I picked up a pre-WWII, wooden sheathed, Pilipino long blade. The story was that it was a war-time 'bring back' made from an old leaf spring. It is rough, rusty, and battered.
I plan to study it and make a modern replica from similar materials as an homage to those storied knives.
I'll try to post a pic tomorrow.
