I tried laying it flat tonight and I still don't think it works well. I put a nice edge on it from my Arkansas translucent stone and then tried lightly and slowly stropping it flat on the strop. After 2 passes I checked it and I know it wasn't better and perhaps slightly (very slightly) less sharp, so I decided to stop (at least it will cut at this point). Now I can tell I have a noticeable burr, but I am curious if its possible to run the knife backwards on the stone to rid the burr instead of using my strop? I've never done that before and not sure if its even a good move.
